WRF Standard Initialization

SI Software Release

The tape archive (tar) file for Linux and Unix operating systems, contains:
the SI and the GUI software, each file is ~22 MB.

To obtain the WRFSI software geographical data, see ftp://aftp.fsl.noaa.gov/divisions/frd-laps/WRFSI/Geog_Data

Consider using GNU's wget -- a non-interactive network retriever, for example,
wget -O - ftp://aftp.fsl.noaa.gov/divisions/frd-laps/WRFSI/Geog_Data/islope.tar.gz | tar xvfz -
This command retreives and extracts the tar file dynamically. See wget_geog.sh

To install the WRFSI software, see the wrfsi/README.

To install the WRFSI GUI software, respond 'Yes' when prompted during the installation of WRFSI. Then to run the WRFSI GUI, use: INSTALLROOT/wrf_tools
